Listening to the Surf

Captured a reflective moment in a lifeguard tower overlooking the surf in La Jolla, CA.

June Gloom

Apparently Dad needs to check in with the locals in CA before he makes the next outing. So our first full day I figure we could head to the beach. I know the clouds cover in the morning and usually burn off by midday, right? Well we drove into La Jolla and it was very cloudy and not so warm. Ty is shown bundled up here in front of whale statues at the Birch Aquarium. We got to watch the shark feeding and he also handled a starfish. Dad bought a sweatshirt. It never did burn off that day, but the weather did improve throughout the week.

Plugged in at 30,000 Feet

OK we have reached the set of San Diego photos now from our trip earlier this month. Ty likes to pass the time on those longer flights watching movies on Dad's laptop. I think he was zoned out to an episode of Go, Diego, Go! I also just got him to wear headphones which made it easier for him to hear, and our fellow passengers probably appreciated that too.

Nice Ears

We got this great set of bath toys at the Disney Store featuring various characters. I also happen to still have a set of ears I got from a trip to Disney World about 15 years ago. Couldn't resist putting the two together. Amazingly it fit quite well on Ty's head and he was so excited. Wait till he sees the real theme park himself (that's next year's vacation by the way).

According to my blogger dashboard, this is post #100. For all of you who have been following the saga of Ty since the beginning, I thank you and hope you are enjoying these photos and musings.

Tonight's picture features Ty at a recent school picnic. Notice the clean shirt he has on. Well Dad went back to the car a few minutes after this was taken to put something away, only to return and find Ty in tears and his shirt covered in blood. Apparently he was running along and tripped and busted his lip open. It looked a lot worse than it really was. An ice pack, some love from Dad, and a few towels to clean him up and he was back out again skipping and singing with the other kids. 48 hours later, you would have never known anything happened (the bloodstains even came out in the wash!) Here's to all of our kids and their incredible ability to heal quickly while they are still young.

Using Your Noodle

Ty displays our latest pool accessory before we head out for a swim. These can also be used quite well for jousting when you are not at the pool.

Magna Tiles

Our ever creative builder has this great set of magnetized plastic tiles that he constructs into houses, boats, zoos or whatever his imagination dreams up. Here he shows off some balancing skills with a stack of the triangle tiles on his knee.

Get Your Motor Running

Yeah, in a few years he might want the real Harley. But for now he can just look cute in one of their shirts. One of our neighbors owns a dealership too, so I'm sure he could hook us up.

San Diego Preview

Ty and I just returned from a fantastic week in Southern California. We went to Legoland, Sea World, the San Diego Zoo and a few other locations. Dad is busy sorting through all the pictures and will have them posted as soon as I catch up on other shots you haven't seen. In the meantime, here's our little frequent flier in the DFW airport on our way out.
